COSTS & FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Dunedin Cricket understands that playing sport can come with its challenges and certainly one of those is the sheer cost of time and money for players and teams to participate in events, programmes and tournaments in other parts of New Zealand. We know it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become a BLACKCAP and WHITEFERN and the pathway to reaching this pinnacle can be made even more difficult when cost of participation is a barrier. The Otago Cricket Fundraising Charitable Trust sets out to assist with the development of our young cricketers and coaches, to allow them to realise their aspirations through removal of some of the financial barriers that exist living in our region.

We are driven to provide opporunties for players and families to seek support to ensure that barriers to partipcation in our summer game are reduced. Our Year 7 Boys & Year 8 Boys Programmes aims to:

Provide boys additional playing opportunities outside of their club and schools playing commitments
Futher develop and challenge themselves

Dunedin Cricket runs a Development Programme in the lead up to and during the start of the regular cricket season which provides additional coaching and training opportunities focusing on foundation & skill development.

All year 7 & 8 boys have the opportunity to register to attend an Otago/South Island Cricket Festival for several days which give boys the exciting opportunity to play with and against players of similar ability from around the greater Otago region.

*Please note, players do not need to take part in the Development Programme to attend the festival & vice versa*
