The University of Otago Oval is set to host four international cricket fixtures this summer, with both the BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS bringing global opponents to the south.
The BLACKCAPS return to Dunedin for a T20 International against the West Indies on Thursday, 13 November 2025, marking the city’s only men’s international of the summer.
BLACKCAPS and Otago Volts pace bowler Jacob Duffy says the game is a special one:
> “West Indies in Dunedin is a circle-in-the-calendar kind of game for me. I always love playing at the University of Otago Oval. The Dunedin people always show up to support.”“It’s not the biggest ground but you get a few thousand in there and it creates a great atmosphere. To have my family and friends there is really special, and to play in front of the Otago people is something I always savour.”
In March 2026, the WHITE FERNS will host Zimbabwe in a historic three-match ODI series — the first time the Zimbabwe women’s team has toured New Zealand:
Wednesday, 5 March 2026 – 1st ODI
Saturday, 8 March 2026 – 2nd ODI
Tuesday, 11 March 2026 – 3rd ODI
Otago’s own Suzie Bates, Eden Carson, Bella James, and Polly Inglis are all contracted to the WHITE FERNS for the season, adding plenty of local flavour to the series.
NZC Chief Executive Scott Weenink said the summer promises to be a standout:
> “It’s great to welcome such a diverse range of opponents for both the BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS, and especially pleasing for NZC to host the first-ever series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand women.”
> “We’ve seen fantastic crowds across the country over the past few seasons and are looking forward to that continuing this summer given the strength of the schedule.”
