Otago Cricket has confirmed its final contracted player for the 2025/26 domestic season, with leg spinner Zac Cumming rounding out the 16-man Otago Volts squad.
Cumming, who made his debut for Otago last summer, brings a unique skill set to the group and will be aiming to build on his early experiences in the domestic game. The 20-year-old is a product of the Otago pathway and represents the region with pride.
“I’m looking forward to learning off everyone again this summer and having the chance to represent my province,” said Cumming. “As a leg spinner, I’m hoping to bring a different set of skills and contribute to winning games of cricket.”
Cumming joins a squad that features four new additions to Otago for the upcoming season. Danru Ferns (Auckland), Jack Boyle (Central Districts), Troy Johnson (Wellington), and local talent Mason Clarke have all signed their first contracts with the Volts.
The group includes a strong mix of experience and emerging talent, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting summer of cricket.
GM Performance Steve Martin said “Now that the squad is complete, and as we progress the appointment of a Head Coach, we are looking forward to building on the many positives of last season. We are blessed, not only with a strong contract group, but some exceptional talent sitting in behind. There are several players unlucky not to have gained a contract, whom will be pushing themselves forward to represent the Volts.”
The full list of contracted players for 2025/26 is:
Matt Bacon, Jack Boyle, Max Chu, Mason Clarke, Jacob Cumming, Zac Cumming, Danru Ferns*, Luke Georgeson, Jake Gibson, Andrew Hazeldine, Llew Johnson, Troy Johnson*, Ben Lockrose, Jarrod McKay, Thorn Parkes, Jamal Todd.**
