Otago cricket is pleased to announce the 12 players that have accepted a contract for the 2008/09 season.

Otago Cricket is delighted to maintain the majority of the State Shield winning squad from last season with the only loss being that of Bradley Scott who has relocated with his new wife to Hamilton. Brendon McCullum and Aaron Redmond both received New Zealand contracts.
Two new players Ian Butler (Northern Districts) and Neil Wagner (South Africa) are joining the squad this year. Ian Butler has transferred to Otago as a bowling all rounder and adds balance and depth to the squad. Neil Wagner is coming from South Africa as a qualifying player, he made his first class debut in 2006 for Northerns and is a left arm opening bowler taking 89 wickets at an average of just 18.3. Mike Hesson said “I am very pleased with the balance of the squad, we have been able to keep the majority of last seasons squad with some exciting additions”.
