Otago Coach takes up overseas position

Friday, 24 October 2008

Otago Cricket Association Community Cricket Coordinator and coach, Nathan King, has been offered the opportunity of a lifetime.

He has accepted a temporary position as coach of the Hong Kong Cricket Club that will see him running the winter training programme for the Club from April through to September. As well as coaching 6 senior teams and 25 women players, Nathan will be responsible for setting up an Under 17 team. Pre-season training games will provide the opportunity to visit adjoining countries like Singapore and Malaysia.

“ I am very excited by the opportunity as it will give me valuable experience in coaching cricket in a different culture and environment and hopefully gain some fresh ideas to bring back to Otago Cricket,” said Nathan King.

Nathan leaves NZ on Sunday 20 April and returns mid September. In his absence, Mohit Rao will fill the vacancy on a temporary basis.
